Short Walks
The Ramblers
organises walks of all types: short, long,
country, city, flat, hilly, gentle, energetic, etc.
We know that many people find it daunting to join a group on a walk without
knowing beforehand how tough the walk will be, particularly if you're new to
the group or haven't done any walking for a long time. On this page we've
picked out some of the shorter walks from our walks programmes to help you
'find your feet' — quite literally! No need to book; just turn up to any
walk that interests you.
If you're not a member of the Ramblers, you're welcome to come on one of these
walks for no charge, though we do ask that after you've come on a couple of
walks with us and wish to continue, that you
join as a member.
In the list below, 'easy pace' or 'leisurely pace' walks are gentle walks
suitable for first-time walkers. Those marked as 'moderate pace' are for those
with some previous walking experience and will walk slightly faster (as a very
rough guideline, walking at approximately 2½ miles per hour).
