West London Ramblers Web Site

From the first of October 2018, the West London Ramblers' group will be part of Inner London.

While Inner London boroughs (those served by the Inner London Education Authority, for those of us old enough to remember that!) are served by the Ramblers' Inner London Area, when the present southern areas were created in 1984, the outer London boroughs were assigned to the areas which spread beyond London into the home counties. In the case of West London, which was formed in 1955, this was into the Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and West Middlesex area, where it has been until now.

Like all of the Inner London groups, the West London Ramblers - which covers the London boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow - focuses on public transport accessible walks and is subject to London's government structures and policies.  With the approval of their previous area, Inner London Area, and the Ramblers' national Board of Trustees, West London group will be transferring to Inner London from the start of October 2018.

Currently, the London boroughs covered by Inner London have not had definitive maps and, hence, public footpaths.  Ealing and Hounslow do, however, and West London group will continue their work in protecting and maintaining them.

We welcome West London to the area, and look forward to working together to improve walking in London for everyone.
