The bridge across the River Brent just past Brent Lodge Park has been closed while essential repairs are made as shown in the image below. Unfortunately the obvious alternative path leading straight ahead across the golf course on the other side of the Brent has also been fenced off.
It may be possible to get round the fencing (the locals have made a hole in it) but if not, you are advised to retrace your steps to the church and then walk about 350 metres along Church Road to find a public footpath/cycle path (High Lane) by the side of 8 Madge Hill. It is a pleasant path and eventually leads out onto High Lane road. Continue past a children's playground and then take a path on the left past Mayfields school which bends left to rejoin the Capital Ring route. Note that just before the bridge you need to turn right towards Bittens Fields and Greenford (the CR sign on the bridge is leading back to Brent Lodge Park).
