Capital Ring walkers can resume the normal route through Abney Park cemetery now that both important gates are open. The route is now step free because the entrance from Stoke Newington Church Street (see above) has a ramp and there are no steps inside the gate.
Almost all the Capital Ring signposts and waymarking discs have been removed during the enhancement works. We are trying to arrange for them to be replaced. Meanwhile it is not difficult to navigate the cemetery with the help of our free walk guidance.
The main gate leading to Stamford Hill has been renovated - as has the area around it (see below). The end of section 12 and the start of section 13 are marked with a big Capital Ring signpost outside this gate.
