• Route: Capital Ring
  • Section#: 12

We have had a report from a walker who found part of the New River Path was closed around Newnton Close.

Our walk guidance states:
"Walk alongside the river, passing a splendid large weeping willow tree dipping its branches into the water. Go up some steps and follow the river across a lane passing a Capital Ring sign. Go down the short slope, through a gateway and on past the East reservoir on the left. On your right are modern blocks of flats and a playground. There is an alternative surfaced path to your right in front of the flats and running parallel to the earth path by the river."

At the moment, after crossing the lane there are some works closing New River Path (red line in image below). There are no diversion signs but this walker took Newnton Close (green dashed line) to rejoin the path further down.
