We have had confirmation from the London Borough of Hounslow that the boardwalk replacement in Donkey Woods is now well underway.
The parks project manager tell us that these works are aimed at improving public accessibility and safety within Donkey Wood, which is public woodland owned by the LB Hounslow .
The river pathway improvement works consist of:
- Removal and replacement of the existing boardwalk, with an extended new section of recycled plastic boardwalk
- Provision of a self-binding gravel path, and
- Replacement of the existing kissing gate and repairs to the river bank in this area.
The project is expected to continue for the rest of this year.
The riverside route through Donkey Wood, which is part of London Loop 9 (Kingston Bridge to Hatton Cross) remains open during construction works. The contractor’s team are on hand to safely guide walkers and cyclists through the construction area.
