• Route: London Loop
  • Section#: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

We have had a report from walkers who completed sections 1-8 over the last weekend in March. They found it to be a most enjoyable experience, but the route was suffering heavily from mud. Most of this was just "Oh, this is a but tricky", but some sections were really bad.

The worst part was section 8 approaching the A3, coming out of Southwood Nature Reserve / Long Meadow. All the paths within the wood were awful, with the lower paths being flooded. The walkers wandered around the woodland aiming to go higher but the only route out is a single gate. They recommend that people divert round the whole wood on either Southwood Drive, or Manor Drive North.

Earlier in section 8 from Ewell Lower Mill (under the railway) the path was bad and one of the party almost took a swim on a muddy narrow section. Local walkers on the west side of the bank were having a far easier time.

Towards the end of section 2, at the bottom of Petts Wood, even the mud diversion was awful.
