We have had a message about a new high metal fence which forces walkers to divert from the exact route just after passing the former entrance to Pyrgo House. (See page 5 of our walk guidance for the section.)
The photograph shows the direction the walker came from. He was walking towards the camera. After passing the Pyrgo iron gate posts the new wire fence forces walkers away from the edge of the wood (shown here on the right of the picture). The old wooden right angled signpost was thrown on the ground within the new fence & broken.
Apparently this walker had no difficulty picking up the correct route 250 yards further on.
